The thermometer has determinedly stayed in the low 30s (yielding no snow days from school~sigh), but certain blossoms are just as stubborn in declaring that it is Spring. We shall see who is still standing at the end of this week.
The almond trees are in bloom - and it is hailing on them. Not sure who will be standing at the end of that. Yesterday it looked as if the almond trees were winning.
I found a picture of a yard full of purple tulips and had a swift stab of homesickness for Scotland's ever-raining climate and green and flowers all over... but they really do have a sun-lack issue there. *sigh* Maybe I should move to the PNW so I can have my tulips and some sun, too.
Texas has really outdone itself to confuse its residents this winter, eh? Don't "snow days" have to be made up? What are your summer plans - assuming spring follows winter and summer follows spring?

Things are blooming like mad today and it's going to plunge into the low 20s.
DeleteI would never recommend that anyone move to the PNW if sun is at all a consideration!

ReplyDeleteI'm looking for some summer stock theatre or something extra to teach throughout the summer.
DeleteRe PNW - Laurie is right. There are many things to love about this area - but one wouldn't move here for sunshine.
