delish


While my students have been generous over my entire career, I feel as though the past few weeks, I begin a lot of my posts with "a student gave me". Today's gift was fresh lychee! Not only was it fun to have it again, we got to teach several people on campus what it was and how to eat it. My kind of education.

  1. Yeah, okay, my tree is not going to produce this year, and next year, it won't be my tree anymore, so I won't ever see it. However! I'm intrigued that you enjoy fresh lychee. I loathe canned - so, so, SO much - so I had hoped for better from the fresh. My sister tells me it's just as gross... so we'll see. Our Farmer's Markets here have lots of Asian urban farmers sharing things so we may be able to find a neighbor who has a producing tree, who knows.

    1. Blech to canned; it's like comparing something you'd find in canned fruit cocktail to fresh pears and peaches. I love them. To me, they taste a bit like a grape/kiwi sort of fruit.
