flora. fauna. family.

Got a quick hike in between the t-storms~lots to see today.  Finally got one of these green guys to hold still enough for a pose.  Love watching them puff out their throats indignation, but wasn't able to capture that.

Down a different trail today and found a solid bridge across the creek.

Thinking that these would look marvelous in my Advent wreath~wondering if I can preserve them that long?

Not quite the last rose of summer.

A sweet little thank you note from the August b-day boy.  Not only does he have excellent Southern manners, he has exquisite taste in stationery!

  1. Sorry it took almost a month for your card to get there...he's still really slow at writing! Maybe when he's 2 he can speed it up!

    1. To be fair, he said thank you in person! Plus, he's been busy learning this whole world of walking.

  2. Those pinkish berry things - I just found some of those today on a plant... and had zero idea what they were. They're so pretty they're probably deeply poisonous.

    1. If I hadn't seen them growing~I would not believe that they are a thing of nature. And they're really hard, so doubt anyone would try to eat them. But one never knows!
