Oy. I'm in the process of trying to find new books and ... yeah. I hate SO MUCH of contemporary worship music (in part because so much of it is "country fried," as Van calls it. Country would be fine, in and of itself, except there's this weird idea that country= wholesome and hardworking - look at a LL Bean or an Eddie Bauer catalogue if you don't believe me. That Americana thing just makes me suspicious. For goodness sakes, it's just a style of music and a way of life for some people, not something to which we should strive with religious fervor) and the repetition is something I could do without.
