boomerang

It is very hard to go wrong when serving food encased in pastry & I was delighted to finally go to this local eatery in honor of Australia Day.

They had a children's pie eating contest and these are the men lining up to vie for a year's supply of free pies.

The owner explaining the rules~the man in the black tank and pink shorts won with a time of 21 seconds.  Impressive.  But I will stick to savoring my little pastry full of 'shrooms.

  1. Ah, pasties. There was a bakery in Glasgow which did them - not too often did we eat the greasy things, but they were good for a quick bite on the run.

    Wish they'd had shroom ones!

    1. Not a hint of the greasy UK ones~just pure flakiness. And the truly dangerous thing? This shop is on the corner by some good friends' home. My freezer may very soon be filled with these.
