Am in the middle of some listening activities with my students involving Debussy's Children's Corner Suite. After listening to 'Golliwog's Cakewalk', one of my 3rd grade boys came sidling over to me and said SO excitedly: "I used to live in San Diego and went to the zoo all the time. When we moved to Texas, my parents got me a zoo cd and it had this song on it and I loved it and never knew the title!!"
Small bits of joy in this interminable year/semester.
