and speaking of that succulent life

I finally took down my Christmas tree in time for Mardi Gras! Go ahead and roll those eyes~but I just saw a LIVE tree being carried out to the trash heap this afternoon.

Since my space looks so stark and bare, I got a cute pot of plants at Trader's on the way home.

Saw this fort on my walk and it brought back memories of roaming the woods/creeks in my happy childhood.

  1. Sheesh, I hope that was a fort... or you may have wolverines making traps for unwary rabbits or ...something.

    I love how little kids don't mind playing on The Actual Ground. I used to disappear during recess into grass on a hillside that was higher than my head - we'd braid grass and capture ladybugs... until Mrs. Greenwood found us and told us to stay in sight... and then they cut the grass on the hill so all the first-and-second graders would quit disappearing...

    ::sigh::

    1. I'm so happy that I grew up in regions sans ticks/poisonous snakes so we could roll around in tke grass & climb trees etc.

    1. Two of my neighbors still have their trees up! From what I can see, it's just lights~no ornaments. As we're supposed to have some freak blizzard next week, I think it's a good idea to have twinkles still up.
