avianonics

It would be interesting to understand what birds are saying. I notice a huge uptick in chatter and activity right before a storm system moves in. I also wonder if the different species understand each other.

Shiny moment on my walk.

  1. Not only birds, but a lot of animals also know when a storm is coming. How is the car running now?

    1. Kinda bummed that we're not getting snow~just iced up roads.

Car's running well~didn't realize how sluggish it had become. Now to get the brakes fixed.

  2. I remember reading somewhere that no one should want to understand the animals, because they're either talking about food or sex. Or danger, I suppose. Possibly that's what they're doing before the storm - warning everyone. Meanwhile, we're singing Eric Whitacre's "Canary" for our next concert... "The song of canaries never varies, never varies..." sung about twelve times in various timings. I am forever trying to identify birds and see what's in our hibiscus bush, but am amused by how many tiny drab and brown little bobbing things there are out there. Ah, well. They're hard to identify!

    1. Easier to tell the differences by song than by the various browns/greys.
