stunned

By the sun.  Have no idea how much rain/hail/winds we got on Saturday night, but Sunday?  Sunny and in the 80s.

While I think that the autumn colours 'pop' a bit more on a dreary day, there is nothing like that November blue as a backdrop!

Where diamonds grow.

The return drive was a much more pleasant experience~winding little country roads are best enjoyed dry.  Stopped at Fredericksburg on the way home just to make sure that apple strudel was still in season.

And, as it's a fairly major touristy spot, they were already decked for the next holiday.

  1. Yes, my friends in NY are rather unamused by the massive floods they're experiencing after the epic snow dump and then ...immediate thaw. But, hey - better blue than blizzard, at this point. It all came just a bit too early.

Sounds like it was a lovely tramp through the grassland- cannot wait 'til I have the energy and the drive for that sort of thing (should happen directly after this stupid novel deadline is met).
