not all the live music here is in honky tonks

Went to hear a portion of the Austin Baroque Orchestra do a recital last night at St. David's.  I hadn't been in this small side chapel before and very much enjoyed not only the live music played on period instruments, but also the view of the city and the twilight.

And the new-to-Austin VooDoo (cult doughnut shop from Portland) was conveniently around the corner from the church.

The Portland Creme version~SO much sugar.  My body is still in shock.

  1. St. David's is pretty... and while I was in Portland, we took pictures of the outside of VooDoo... I just could NOT with the doughnuts!

    1. The outside is gorgeous~I posted photos of it in my Evensong posting.

And yeah, I can now check VooDoo off the list. It was also too much pressure to choose between 87 genres of doughnuts. Just give me a simple cheese Danish & we're good.

But, it was a fun memory!

  2. Voodoo donuts = too much of a good thing! They are way over done in my opinion! I'm sure you're still bouncing off the walls from the sugar!

    1. And I got one of the 'simple' ones. It was fun to go, but now it's off my Bucket List.
