short days ago

This week in Writing Lab, we've been working on research papers on All Quiet on the Western Front and various WWI poets.  Not sure if irony is the word I want in realizing that exactly 100 years ago, that war was started and it seems that we're teetering on the verge of another global conflict.

So, I'll post these lyrics from a lovely song we did at MCHS and savor this quiet Friday.

The real Flanders field

  1. I absolutely adore that poem, and it's of course one of the easy ones to recite with all of that sing-songy end rhyme.

    1. It's a gorgeous 3-part song; I really ought to get a copy of it to you.
