A student just got her green card and is going to work while she waits for her uni term to begin in September. So, she brought gifts to the admin today~admire my pretty new bookmark! Goes well with my glasses case from SF.

My friend Claire just came back from Hong Kong and I have a bookmark that is like that - but it has the characters for Reading instead of just a pretty design. I was tickled to death - Claire is a lawyer (whom I mistook for a high school or junior college student in our chorus - which endeared me to her for life) and I was so impressed with her career that she was amused. She is more impressed, she says, by mine. Hah. If only she knew how much more she gets paid! ♫
