in which I finally master restuarant tofu


 Chirpy variegated flora seen on a zippy walk between downpours.


Stunning moment of quietly staring: have only seen the does and fawns this season, so was pleased to meet this guy.


And voila!  Not so appetizing in the photo, but after pressing the water out of a block of tofu overnight and then marinating it in ginger and green onions, I tossed the cubes with cornstarch and flash fried them.  Delish!

  1. You know, as long as I've known about this cornstarch thing, I still am horrified that I've never done it. And I eat tofu for breakfast most mornings. And have green onions and ginger AND CORNSTARCH on hand.

    1. Just as you showing me cornstarch with frozen fruit changed my kitchen, this did as well! You MUST try it!
