you can't stop the motion of the ocean

Usually by production week, I am tired of all the music of the show~but there's something so joyful and effervescent about this score that I still am singing it in my head continually.

Rehearsal was fun today~suddenly it was Real to the students and they're starting to truly sparkle.  We add wigs and gloves tomorrow.

And!  For the first time in many months, I found a penny on the pavement.

  1. I'm glad that things are coming together! I was thinking just the other day of what other musical you can do after this one... someone somewhere will think next you should do "High School Musical" and I know how much you LOVE that, so...

If you hadn't just done the 60's, I'd say Beehive, which looks adorable - a huge jukebox set, and there you go! Also: boots & beehives.

Or, you could do "Nunsense," which has a lot of nuns... and very bad puns. Or "Thoroughly Modern Millie," which has probably been, along with "You Can't Take It With You," done to death... and then I thought of "Smile," which is also very girl-y. I guess it depends on how you're feeling when this is all over, and how many more players you could get. Apparently, there's a new frontier-style six-women show out now called "Quilters" about... the Willa Cather types quilting away.

I'll be intrigued to see what you do next.
