humming along

Just found my Snoopy penny~souvenir from this summer. Most of my life is still in boxes, so it's fun to occasionally unpack a little bit more.

Yesterday was a quiet snow day.

It's so hard to restrain myself from gathering twigs and such from along my walks. But I don't know the neighbors and I have no place to put bouquets. So photos will do for now.

Glammed up on my way to the Nutcracker with the sis and niecelet.

Enjoyed some Chinese food with sparkling hanging lights.

Photography wasn't allowed during the show, but it was a delightful community production.

The niecelet was enchanted and enchanting. And now I fall asleep while humming the Snowflake Chorus.

  1. Sisters and a "niecelet" - great combo for the Nutcracker. May you find a fortune in one of your as-yet unpacked boxes.

  2. Aww! Of course she liked the Snowflake Chorus - it's the best one for spinning and swaying. Your nephew wasn't interested?

  3. A very sore subject in the household at present. We didn't think he would be, and many tears later when we found out~the tix were sold out. It was silly because Allie spent most of the concert on our laps, so Josh easily could have come.

He was coming down with a cold, so staying home was a good idea. We brought him a Nutcracker and we'll take him next year!

Having never seen a community dance group before (other than weird summer festival gigs), I was pleased to see all sized represented on stage~not just those scary skelatal bodies of the professional troupes.

    1. That was the experience we had as well - not so skinny wee girls, lots of boys, galloping along in tights being Nutcrackers and whatnot, plenty of men in capes and lots and lots and lots of tiny rats. I mean, they had a surplus of children, I guess, and not all of them could get away with being snowflakes, so any three-year-olds in the house they sent scurrying around as rats. It was hilarious, and also they were VERY underfoot in the wings! It's a huge theater in Livermore, but it still was very much like a ...school play backstage.

    2. Also, poor little guy!!! It's too early to have "girl's night out" when the little man feels like he's being abandoned. We let my brother choose what interested him, and he was at every tea party, and every ballet, bless him, he just wanted to be at the party, no matter what we were doing. It is only now, in his twenties, that he sometimes passes!

Also! I'm so glad that the hat is still alive and well!
