Rejoooooooooice

Finally made it to a local church this morning. I was warmly welcomed and look forward to visiting again.

As all I looked at the website for was parking (these charming Colonial towns have maybe five spaces for the entire town) and the time of service~didn't realize that it was Lessons & Carols! Enjoyed all the music, even if the organist seemed uber-caffeinated. I've never heard Rejoice Greatly done at that tempo. The upside is the soprano didn't really have to worry about breathing.

Warm afternoon~enjoyed a walk and was rewarded with a quarter found.

  1. Hahahaha! All those runs just ruuuuuuuuuu together, at speed. I've heard that one done at a pretty good clip, and I frankly think you end up gasping too much. O, Daughters of Zion *gasp* Shout, O Daughters of Jerusalem *gasp* Behold, Thy King Cometh Unto Thee! Rejoooooooice... *pant, pant*

    1. She was a valiant soprano~I couldn't see her, but imagine that she was purple by the end. The hymns also moved at a zesty clip~except for "People, Look East" which was played like a dirge.

Can only imagine next Sunday's tempos...
