the grid

I've never wanted to be one of those who live off the grid, and after about twenty hours of no electricity, I want to BE the grid now. I want endless hot water, and refrigerated foods, and flowing wifi.

So very happy to have the heat back on and know that I can do laundry today. The little comforts of life!

  1. Heard one million out of power. We don't do well out of electricity even with flashlights and a wood-burning stove. We think - oh, can't use the stove - let's use the microwave - or oven inoperable - we'll use the toaster - or no wife - let's play CD's, etc. Seems we're not set up for the apocalypse. Hope you return to normal before you freeze or starve!

    1. Fortunately we have a gas stove so still could cook on that. But I am still grateful everything is working this morning~hope it lasts!

  3. The gas stove that we have here is a BOON. One of the WORST thing about the past five years - and life in the UK, for most of our time there - was electric ovens. I can get through many things in life, but if there's no means to make tea, it's all over.
