whoosh

This day zipped by~with finals and moving classrooms (getting more students next sesh, so I need a bigger room), then popping into DC to the Aveda Institute.

Ironic these words on the WWII Memorial are so close to the Capitol.

The full moon, the fireflies glimmering, and the first cicadas singing made for a moment of respite.

  1. Oy, those cicadas!
    I had forgotten about them.
The starlings in Europe are also their own constant noise, but the cicadas are... CRAZY loud. They cracked me up; I kept asking people what that sound was, and they were like, "What sound?"

Like bells, you eventually stop hearing them, I guess.

  2. I remember driving into Jersey for the first time and Bogart bolted up and stared out the window intently, trying to figure out what that noise was.

While I despise the humidity of the eastern summers, the cicada singing and the firefly magic *almost* make up for that!
