Back at my favorite tapas restaurant just in time for their summer menu. Was surprised at the deliciousness of fried goat cheese drizzled with honey and crumbled lavender buds!
Madly prepping for Mulan rehearsals commencing on Monday morning.
I may have mentioned that I was in Costco and the girl behind me - looking all of maybe twenty-what - felt the need to point at my goat cheese and say, "Hey, that's really good with honey." As she was accompanied by a guy with gold chains, a backwards baseball cap, and impatience, we didn't discuss it long, but I was glad to know that there are interesting things being done with my fave cheese!
Is this plain fried, or is there a batter on it...? Frying cheese: just not something one tries at home.
Don't know how to describe the batter--it wasn't panko nor cornmeal. It was very fine, whatever the substance. And the contrast between the crunch of the crust and the melty insides and then the tangy cheese and sweet honey? Divine! I'd probably pass on the lavender next time~struck me as too soap/lotion like.
