Truly don't remember the last time I was this delighted by food~just attended the 23rd Hot Sauce Festival.
First there was the line for the reds~after about 30 of those, it was time for the greens.
After eight tables full of those, it was time to hit the specialty and vendor booths. I lost count after tasting 60 kinds. And only called it quits because there is only so much walking around a fair ground one can do when the temperature soars.
But oh! What a lovely festival. I shall return.
How would you remember what you liked best?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like fun.
All the sauces in the main pavilion were served in plastic containers with a code written on them~think I got there after the voting had happened~these are all local and homemade concoctions and the crowd votes on a variety of elements.
DeleteThe sauces/salsas in the outside booths all had labels and most people had business cards and websites for their advertising.
It was a lot of fun and it was free! Well, a donation of three cans of food was expected, but still very inexpensive food.
Ah, what a fun outing, a sort of Hot August Nights preview.
ReplyDeleteTwo hours of doing nothing but tasting salsa, divine! And while I know they like their single genre festivals, it would be good to combine this one with the ice cream one. There was one teensy ice cream booth at the very back of the grounds yesterday.
DeleteAnd do you have any taste buds left?
ReplyDelete:) Yes. It was surprising that the green sauces were hotter than the reds.
