Wooheee, it is brisk outside. Am hoping the sleet holds off until vacation begins~being an hourly employee changes my attitude towards snow days. And the list as we are entering the final week of gratitudes (or at least posted ones).
- Conversations in coffee shops.
- The abundance at the market~especially with all the Thanksgiving foods and ingredients stacked everywhere.
- For the support of the artistic life, especially musicians, in Austin.
- Mint tea.
- For these fun paper lanterns that I got in SF on Father's Day~they are a legitimate way to have the sparkle of Christmas lights up year round.
Like you I have daily things to be thankful for - no blog to post them, just a journal. Hourly-paid employees are at a def. disadvantage for federal holidays, sick days, snow days, vacations, etc. Tim's Laura does not qualify for "small business" - so misses out also - although she's building quite a local reputation - as I imagine you are doing. Our pastor does his best work and meets people with his laptop at coffee shops! Happy b/d month to you - hope you get my card soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's been a good month.
DeleteGORGEOUS lanterns. I need some of those. I'd prefer something unusual in the "holiday light" category this year.
ReplyDeleteChinatown is a marvelous place to find lights!
