Decided to pop out between storms and see the peacocks at this preserve as well as enjoy a Sunday hike.
There are 21 acres here and it seemed as though each acre had at least five peafowls screeching about.
Expect to see an explosion of blooming after the deluge we just had/are having.
Um. Yes, another trail, I think.
Thought this was a beautiful shot with the flowers.
And just in case you thought your job had it's downside...
Stay safe! Liked you peacock and flower picture.
ReplyDeleteThe peacocks were gorgeous, but SO loud; feel sorry for the neighborhood having to listen to those screeches all the time.
DeleteThey are so pretty, but very loud! Remember being screamed at by them one late night at Ginger's house up at PUC?? :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Their volume is impressive. And a bit freakish. As I was reading up on this place, found that it's used for a lot of outdoor weddings; wonder how many people have awful screams on their wedding videos?
DeleteLaurie, you made me chuckle with your response to Linda's comment. Some friends of ours in Eastern Washington had several peacocks in their yard - and it was deafening! I can't imagine competing with that at a wedding.
ReplyDeleteYes... David's father once climbed down from their massive hill and ran to the neighbors with a gun when they lived in Hemet, because he swore he'd heard a woman screaming "HEEEEELP!" Just a pair of peahens, the goofy things.
ReplyDeleteThey sound human~if I wasn't standing there and staring at them, I would certainly think it was a woman shrieking.
